What does a positive tuberculosis test look like?

A positive TB skin test typically looks like a raised, hard bump or swelling at the injection site. The size of the reaction is measured in millimetres of induration, not redness. For TB blood tests, a positive result is determined by the laboratory that analyzes the blood sample.
