What is a tuberculosis skin test?
A tuberculosis skin test, also known as a Mantoux tuberculin skin test, involves injecting a small amount of fluid called tuberculin into the skin in the lower part of the arm. A healthcare professional then checks the injection site after 48-72 hours to assess the body's reaction to the tuberculin.
